Outreach Worker/Promotores Program

About the Opportunity:
El Concilio of San Mateo (ECSMC) is seeking to contract (2) community outreach workers who will work to engage with South San Francisco and North County residents in need. Outreach workers/Promotores are leaders and advocates from their communities who are bi-lingual, bi-cultural and understand the needs of their neighbors.

Outreach Workers will receive training and build a cohort of community leaders and champions with other Promotora program partners including City of South San Francisco Community Promotores.

Duties include:

• Build and maintain a visible presence in the community, employing techniques of “canvassing” the neighborhoods, connecting with community leaders, providing direct information, referrals and assistance to residents in essential areas that include health and mental health, housing needs, food insecurities and job loss.

• Participate in events, staff informational booths, and create and deliver presentations in preferred languages;

• Connect with South San Francisco organizations, non-profits, and City of South San Francisco Community Promotores

• Provide regular updates and statistical reports on outreach activities to Program Manager

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Compensation: $20/Hr. (15-20Hrs/Week)
